Good News of tax deductions for Homeowners and Kansas City Home Buyers

Congress has just extended the federal tax deduction of mortgage insurance premiums (PMI) for 3 more years (until 2010)! PMI is the insuring fee for those Kansas City home buyers with less than 20% down payment.

The tax break is for all home buyers including Kansas City families that have adjusted gross income of $100,000 or less.

Home buyers in Overland Park had thought that PMI was unnecessary because the 80/20 or 100% loans. The buyers didn't feel it was worthwhile paying the PMI fee unless it was also tax deductible. Now they have their wish for 3 more years!! If you would like more information on PMI or further details on buying a home in Overland Park area, contact us via email or call us at 913-312-3614 Listen to our podcast about local conditions in the Johnson County area.
