Countdown to Moving Day into Your Overland Park home -  part 2

Now the day is getting closer - you’ve got your work cut out for you in getting ready to move into your new Overland Park home. You’re two weeks away from that special day!  So here are some tips to make it easier & less stressful.

2 weeks out:

• start packing. Do a little each day.  Don’t try to do it in 2-3 days.  There’s so much to keep in mind & keep organized.
• cancel newspaper delivery, lawn care services & trash pick up for final dates
• if you have any lawnmower equipment or power tools, empty them of gasoline.  Movers might not move them if fills with gasoline and/or oil
  
• schedule disconnect dates with utility companies, cable, DSL, phone companies.  Schedule turn on connections dates for new home.
• make sure you turned in your change of address with post office.
• get a survival box together. Think about what items you will need for the first day at new home or on moving day.  Such as a box of toilet tissues, kleenex, disinfectant wipes, purell hand sanitizers, a couple of dish clothes, paper cups, paper towels, note pad, pencils, folders of to do lists, etc etc.
