Home Staging Tip: De-clutter before putting your Overland Park Home on the market

We all have some of those treasured items that we have HOPE and GUILT syndrome. We hold on to things because we hope they'll come back. Possibly we'll find a new use or place for it. Many times, we have those "hope to" finish projects. (Unfortunately that normally doesn't happen). It's usually it's best to dispose of it. In staging a home, we have to declutter everywhere! Including closets, garage, basements, attics, even the outdoors. If you have older outdoor furniture that needs repair, the old doghouse, unused scraps of lumber, extra flower pots not used, dispose of it. If you haven't used it in a year, toss it. Why would you take that stuff with you to your new home, when you haven't used it. That's a good question to ask of everything, inside or outside. Buyers can't see what it "WILL" look like. But they only know what they see. Make sure the buyers viewing your home - feel like they'll enjoy living there - like a model home!
